How To Add Custom domain In Blogger

Step 1: Purchase a Custom Domain

Firstly, you need to purchase a custom domain from a domain registrar like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains. Choose a domain name that reflects your blog content and is easy to remember.
Step

 2: Sign in to Blogger

    Go to Blogger.
Sign in using your Google account. If you don't have a Blogger account, you can create one.

Step 3: Access Blog Settings

After signing in, click on the blog title you want to connect to your custom domain.
In the left menu, click on "Settings."

Step 4: Basic Settings

Under the "Basic" section, find the "Publishing" heading.
Click on the "+ Set up a third-party URL for your blog" link.

Step 5: Enter Your Custom Domain

Enter your custom domain in the format www.yourdomain.com.
Click on the "Save" button. You will see an error message with two CNAME records.

Step 6: Update DNS Records

Now, you need to update your DNS records with the provided CNAME details from Blogger.

Option 1: Use the Domain Registrar's DNS Settings

  •     Log in to your domain registrar account (where you purchased the domain).
  •     Find the DNS settings or DNS management section.
  •     Add two CNAME records:
  •     The first CNAME record should have the name "www" and point to ghs.google.com.
  •     The second CNAME record should have the unique code provided by Blogger as the name and point to ghs.google.com.

Option 2: Use Blogger's Custom Domain Setup

Some domain registrars, like Google Domains, offer a simpler method. In Blogger, click on the "Settings" tab and then "Basic." Under the "Publishing" section, find your custom domain and click on the "Set up a third-party URL for your blog" link. Choose your registrar from the drop-down menu and follow the instructions provided.

Step 7: Save and Test

After adding the CNAME records, go back to Blogger and click on the "Save" button.
It might take a few hours for the DNS changes to propagate across the internet.
Once the changes have propagated, your custom domain should be connected to your Blogger blog.

Remember that DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours in some cases, although it often happens much faster. During this time, your blog might be inaccessible via the custom domain. After the propagation is complete, your blog should be accessible through your custom domain.
